Applying to the
School of Practical Nursing - STEP 3
All applicants are required to complete a Placement Test.
The Placement Test will identify:
1. Those applicants who are recommended for Adult Education Preparatory Courses
2. Those applicants who meet the basic math and English criteria for admission to the program.
Once an applicant completes the 3-steps for application, the School of Practical Nursing will contact him/her to arrange a personal interview.
Acceptance into the School of Practical Nursing Program
Acceptance into the NewCourtland School of Practical Nursing is based on the applicant meeting all requirements as placed forth by the School.
As required by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for all participants of a Practical Nursing Program certified by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, acceptance into the program is pending upon official documentation from a healthcare provider of a two-step Tuberculin Skin Test (TST); a physical examination which indicates the physical abilities needed to perform the tasks and duties of a Practical Nurse; immunization verification blood work, and documentation supporting influenza immunization, Hepatitis B immunization or declination.
